The Tree or Me?
The chances of a tree sprouting from a seed are very slim
Other bigger trees often hide the sun by way of the limb.
It takes pain staking decades to reach their goal of being tall
There is no way to quicken the task, no way at all
But day after day it continues to grow
Even thought it doesn't show
I wouldn't blame the tree if it got depressed with it
Give up on life and die and quit
Its amazing thought the patients a tree displays
Wanting nothing but water and a few sun rays
200, 300 years they may wait
To grow so tall, majestic and great
If people could learn to be as patient as trees
I think this is the answer, the magical keys
That can bring on an abundance of health
And a multitude of peace and a lifetime of wealth
However true these words may be
It really depends on what you see
If you ask me what I think
I'll come up with a twisted kink
Here is your tree that struggled for years
Survived by the horrors of termites and bears
Only to be cut down to clear way for a lawn
Made into the paper these words are upon
So for tree was it worth the long race
Or does it feel its life a disgrace
However true these words may be
It really depends on what you see
