My Granddaughter
For you Alexandria
March seventeenth two thousand and four
A new spirit came knocking on our front door
Came the separation from the umbilical cord
A little baby girl is her Mommy's reward
God and the Angels watched with anticipation
a miracle in the womb, God's awesome creation
The day has arrived; the joy is in the air
Mommy and new baby girl, what a lovely pair
The heavens sounded with one loud voice
Happy Birthday Alexandria let the earth rejoice
The angels welcomed her into this wondrous world
With magic and colors and beauty all twirled
Legions of angels are sent from the sky
To cradle the baby and comfort her cry
God's courtyard is celebrating this special day
Mighty Kings bowed down on knees to pray
She will dance in the halls wearing jewelry and dresses
And she will bless our houses with crayons and kid messes
She will be the delight of kings with all that entails
With her beautiful smile and long pony tails
From the time you lay upon your mommy's breast
Till the time you discover your own life's quest
I promise to be yours and always be there
I will intercede to God for you with prayer
She was created for the Lords own pleasure
And lent to us to love and treasure
Not mountains or deserts or large vases of water
Can compete with the majestic of my Granddaughter
